Hyperion / Modular Tzalam Octahedron

This structure is conformed of eight handcrafted modules, each fabricated from a single CNC cut solid tzalam wood piece. The union of the modules is done based on the geometry of the octahedron. The assembly of the pieces, the polishing and the final finish in natural oil is carried out manually.

Tzalam, known as the Caribbean walnut, is a tropical high-density wood that grows in Southern Mexico. Its color is a mixture between red and yellow, which ends up giving a cinnamon like tone and it is strong and resistant to weather conditions, water, and humidity.
